My mind: the octopus

Have you ever tried to contain an octopus?

Me either, but I think I have a good idea of what it might feel like after this morning’s meditation. Minutes that felt like hours, trying to wrangle my mind back to some sense of quiet.

I know, of course, what is up, or at least part of it: upcoming travels, the end of the school year for some, the start of learning for others, edicts from the physical therapist, pending laundry, a sink full of dishes. And then there are the emotions linked to fluctuations of family and self.

In short: life.

And I know that this life, this life that I truly enjoy, is exponentially more enjoyable the less it distracts me. The irony is not lost on me. And so I sit.

Next up: virtual vinyasa practice, today, Wednesday April 27, 16:30 UTC (12:30pm in Brooklyn, NY). See you there?
