We should learn from the trees!

Yesterday on my walk I saw a number of magnolia trees with withered buds: they had ventured too far, too soon, then frozen solid during that last night of frost.
.
I suppose one lesson from that could be, don't stick your head out.
.
But magnolia trees are amongst the oldest species of trees around. These blossoms existed before we did! Their insistence to share their inner self, consequences be damned, has served them well. We can all learn from that.
